Despite it's apparent remoteness and "hard-to-get-to-ness" (how's that?) La Pomme d'Or is an utterly rewarding, exhillerating and enjoyable ice climb which comes in package with Skidoo driving and visit to one of the nicest parts of Quebec, Parc Hautes Gorges along the Malbaie river area.

This is why ice climbers like going to Ghost.

On the way to the Sorcerer. Fortunately, there wasn't much snow at the time. Well, neither there was much ice in the route. But bushes on approach were abundand, oh yeah. Sure, we missed the trail again.

Climbing Sorcerer you feel quite isolated with steep peaks and vast woods stretching as far as one can see.
Panther Falls (Bridal veil falls) near Sunwapta pass is a nice icy monster of moderate difficulta but great playing potential. And a warm up route for some steeper routes. In the roof to the left above me is the Musashi.

Banff. Canadian Chamonix, Kranjska gora or Zermatt. A town of the known film festival, a nice climbing gym, a couple of cool pool bars, kind policemen, a bunch of expensive shops, a great hostel, wandering elks and the very dangerous Wolf street.
There is a certain road in Banff which makes me turn left rather unexpectedly. At least for some other drivers... It happened in 1998 and it happened in 2002 . A joke? To me, yes.
