We had quite some work to do before we got close enough to smell the ice. 4 hours of snowshoeing. Up here, on this moraine ridge, things already got better. Of course, the trail was to be found upon return, as usual...
Scary looking smear under a line of seracs.Doesn't promise much pleasure. Didn't give much of it either.
	Tough, brittle and steep. it took us 7 hours to cover the 230 metres.
If I ever looke f.... up after some ice ascent, It was after Riptide.
